Next Generation Science Standards

In an increasingly complex, high-tech society, students need a basic understanding of science and technology to lead productive lives. Mobile Math & Science Labs was created to meet the needs required for a robust hands-on science experience for all. The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are new science content standards that set the expectations for what student should know and be able to do.

The NGSS were developed by The National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Science managed the first of two steps in the creation of the NGSS by developing the A Framework for K-12 Science Education, which was released in July 2011. This framework is now being used as the foundation for the NGSS. This framework is available at no cost and is available for download HERE.

Within the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), there are three distinct and equally important dimensions to learning science. These dimensions are combined to form each standard in the areas of Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth & Space Sciences. The New California Science Test (CAST) is being implemented for grades 5, 8 and High School starting April 2, 2018! The Next Generation Science Standards are available for free HERE
